When for years they've been by far the world's number one polluter. The Americans didn't care about the damage that was being done in the Arctic ocean but when all of a sudden there's an oil disaster they now want to change their environmental policy!
Coming from the Brits? Just because BP stands for British Petroleum doesn't mean it's a British company. BP's actually a multi-national company, it's actually an American company as well as British. Try to get your facts right.

It's nothing new, the Democrats have been pushing for environmental protection for at least a generation but republicans, the big business party, have always fought it.

The Governor of Louisianna says the drilling needs to continue,
but the public wants "something done" at the same time.
People say they want to drive cars.
Public transit is a non starter.
In fact everything "green" is out.
I guess America likes her oil spills, yum yum.

actually we have some of the strongest anti pollution laws in the world. don't know where you get your information, this latest disaster is coming from the Brits. anyhow, misinformation based on hatred just does not cut it. other than that you are wrong.

Some people just don't realize they need to care about something till it happens in their own backyard. When something happens to you or someone you care about ..or some PLACE you care about, it acts as a wake up call and hopefully as a call to action to get involved.

It is sad that it takes something this massive and destructive to open people's eyes.
