Consider the first few centuries of buddhism, christianity or islam. Most religions have rapid changes in belief system in the first few centuries. Then they either die out, or have evolved into a belief system that is emotionally attractive and can capture converts.
The Koran for one. Mormonism and Islam are nothing but plagiarized versions of Bible which is 3/4 Jewish and 1/4 Christian, so if you believe in Mormonism than I have allot of bridges to sell to you!
