iso to dvd-rw burning help?

i went to target and bought a 25 pack of dvd-rw and came home tryed to put an iso of linux on it and it said "no cd-r,cd-rw in drive" is it possible t burn iso to dvd-rw

Of course it is possible but many rw discs are just lousy especially cheap ones - they are just unreliable. I did it many times but failed many times too.
Wallgreens sells 5 blank cds for $ 2 or 3 blank dvds for $2 too. Never failed. Just use them to burn iso and when you put linux in internal or external drive just trash them. They are cheap but do the job perfectly.
Cheap rws are just so unreliable they're just useless.

You might have a CD-Rom and not a DVD-Rom

Yes, it is. Your computer may not be able to burn DVD's.

sounds like your DVD drive may not be a DVD burner. It may just be a CD burner.
