Israel Blockades Lebanon

I didn't avoid it, because I didn't think it was relevant.
But the answer is no.
I've never gone out and specifically looked for an Israeli product in my life.
But I have bought them.
Because I don't too much care where my oranges come from.
But now I will probably choose the alternative.

(I'm visualising that in a New York Jewish accent. )
The answer is of course not.
But the point I was making is that it is about Israel the state, not the Jewish people.

Having worked in factories andn lived in an automotive state, I tend to be fairly aware of where things come from.

Most people anywhere don't care.

A far larger number stopped than what you would probably think. I have a friend that has a small winery in the US and their business competed with a lot of the French wines. Their business skyrocketed at the time and as of last fall was still way up.

Yeah, I was right according to Prowla and you still are one.

I avoid buying Israeli goods where possible, for me this means some fruit and vegatables and refusing to shop at Marks and Spencers or to use Starbucks.

For example if I bought a sandwich from Marks and Spencers the profits could be used to buy a bullet that kills a Palestinian or Lebanese child.

For those who would perhaps like to make a descision not to buy products from companies that support the Isreali agenda, here's a list of companies to avoid.

Time to exercise freedom of consumer choice.

Here's the Boycott Israeli Goods campaign.

Citizenship in the US? Holy smokes, its easier to sneak across the border and live your life than go through the hoops to become a citizen. We used to actually have restrictions and now almost anyone can become a citizen if they wait long enough, have enough money and are willing to do all the paperwork. Or you can just sneak across and live somewhere the ICE won't even arrest you.

Thanks for the list: I've downloaded it, printed it, and distributed it around my office where the guys are going shopping specifically for Israeli products today. My personal contribution will be to take my two kids to the Disney store and buy them whatever they want, while my wife is going to try and max out her GAP credit card so they'll make profit on the interest as well. If everything I buy means more bullets to shoot Hezbollah fighters and sympathizers in the face with, then I'm going on a shopping spree! It's too bad the US gov't won't transfer our old Napalm to the IDF.

Maybe you can get some from here, I think they have the sort of flavours you seem to like..

Actually, we're still trying to figure out if there's anything in the world that isn't made in China? I can tell you there's nothing at WalMart that isn't.

Is that the stuff leftover from Vietnam when the Viet Cong whooped allmighty America?

Probably when people like you realise violence only breeds more violence. Now I'd also like to point out the UK has dealt with it's own home grown terrorism without having to send in fighter jets to flatten row after row of houses. It's taken a long time to get to where we are now, but it was worth the effort. There's always more than one side to the storey.Nobody said it was What has the Royal Air Force got to do with anything That may be the case but international law also calls for a proporationate response. Flattening entire cities (which Israel is in the process of doing) is grossly out of proportion to the kidnapping of two soldiers.Getting involved sooner would have saved many more lives and not just Americans. As opposed to the millions that died when not only one but TWO cities were nuked? And we won't mention the extreame long term suffering many of the survivors had to endure? What would you prefer, the chance to fight for your life or the chance to lie in agony and watch your skin fall off? Which was exactly the horror Japanese civillians had to endure.Oh right I've never worn a uniform. I'll just not have an opinion then. Lets all sit back and let the army rule the world. They do such a grand job. Lets hope the Israeli air force has ironed out the F16s blue-on-blue bug.No Russia supplied the AK-47 to the middle east and Africa back in the so called "cold war" when the US and Russia fought war by proxy. Ya know back when Irans' attempts to become a proper democracey were thwarted by the CIA. But hey wait a minute dictators aren't the "in thing" these days so we'll just call them torrorists.

Now I'd like to see a rapeist or drug dealer put up that defence. "Oh your honour you know if I didn't do it someone else would have"! Ok probably the weakest excuse ever. Are you trying to compare the regulation of the distribution of arms to a civilian population (most of whome do not require full automatic assault rifles they can leave lieing around so their neglected and disturbed little darlings can go slaughter their class mates) such as typical clueless Joe in the US or UK to selling F16's and tanks and missiles? You're effectively compairing the funding of a WAR with being able to buy a fully automatic weapon down at the local Walmart. Oh right I see your point

Now talking about tyranical governments with no respect for international law. Do you think you could get me one of those funky bright orange boiler suits from camp x-ray?

Factually incorrect and philisophically bankrupt? Maybe you meant the IRA or UDF and not the R.A.F.

Perhaps we should have a similiar list for all the goods from Lebanon, Syria, Iran, etc? I think those profits are more likely to be used to kill children.

When rockets are fired at Israel, should Israel use it's radar system to return fire to that location automatically in the hopes of killing the people who fired the rockets?

Excellent analogy! He was spot on with that law by the way. People run out of things to say so they bring the nazi's into the picture!

In case anyone would want to donate....The international Red Cross is soliciting donations to help the Lebanese refugees. Regardless of your political standing, the Red Cross does excellent work world wide and you can donate to your own national red cross and designate the donation to go to the refugees.

I had a high school teacher that used to say that war, famine and drought was god's way of controlling overpopulation

I'm too confused about the Israel-Lebanon situation. Don't know what's right and wrong anymore

My middle son just came back from spending two weeks working to build a center to help with refugees from Iraq. In the last few days refugees from Lebanon came to the shelter. Our church is getting ready to send another team to assist.
