Israel Blockades Lebanon

But is Israel's decision to pull the trigger. They may not be aiming at civilians, but if they feel they can kill a Hezbollah fighter then they willingly ignore the presence of civilians.

If a gang takes over a school and is in a gunfight with the police, the police do not simply bomb the school....Apparently Israel believes that 1 Hezbollah fighter and 60 innocents is a good exchange....

In your gang analogy, if the gang is firing at the cops and the public at large-as Hezbollah is firing at Israel-you're right, they won't bomb the school. Instead, they'll send in large numbers of heavily armed SWAT guys who will shoot the gang members. So using your logic, instead of bombing Lebanon, Israel should launch a full-scale invasion. Like I said before, that WOULD reduce the 'innocent' body count.

Except for the fact that it would only give Hezbollah more recruits as the Lebanese in general wouldn't appreciate the invasion....

It stuns me how Israel is just thinking that maybe the next time there won't be a wall.

So how would that be different from the bombing that everyone assumes is driving Hezbollah recruiting up? Other than fewer innocents would be dying? You would think that if all the 'innocent' Lebanese were so terrified and intimidated by Hezbollah, they would welcome the Israelis as a way of restoring order to their communities and giving power back to their Lebanese gov't. Resistance on the part of Lebanese civilians would be proof positive that the 'innocents' Israel has been killing really aren't so innocent after all.

No sarcasm intended, but did you really think that they would be concerned with the safety of the people who are in danger there?

They destroyed roads and disabled the airport. They don't care who is in the way as long as they get to strike out at Hezbollah.

There would only be an issue if US citizens are injured, everyone else would be considered unfortunate casualities.

So bombing is bad. Going door to door is bad even though it would save innocent lives. What is good? Allowing them to continue killing Israelis as much as they want?

Yes..because we all know resisting the invasion of your country is wrong...Resistance on the part of Lebanese civlians would be proof they don;t want Israel to invade them....

What is good?

Stopping the attacks on Israel while not killing innocents....

Aiding Lebanon and earning the trust of the Lebanese population would be a much more effective solution.

see when you say stupid crap like this i find it hard to take you seriously.

I know this not that relevant to the thread but I dont think it warrants a thread of its own,

but remember this guys, he did a runner to Lebanon, but wants back in the UK

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=17422058&method=full&siteid=66633&headline=bakri-pleads-to-come-back-to-britain--name_page.html
BAKRI PLEADS TO COME BACK TO BRITAIN

PREACHER of hate Omar Bakri Muhammed begged yesterday to be allowed back into Britain to escape the violence in Lebanon.

The fanatic fled the UK last year in the wake of the July 7 bombings and the Government quickly told him not to return.

But Bakri now fears he will be killed in the Israeli bombardment of Lebanon. And he wants to rejoin his wife and six children at their home in London.

This could turn into an all out War between Lebanon and Israel.

Lebanon warns army could join Hezbollah fighters

Worst case scenario: Palestine will step up its attacks and Syria will see this as a good opportunity to attack Israel, Iran will try out its nerw missiles, US and the UK are a bit stretched in Iraq, insuregnts will step up attacks there. Then Israel will nuke someone and WWIII will kick off... Indian and Pakistan will decide to nuke each other for no apparent reason. China will invade Taiwan for fun and I'm bugering off to Siberia to make yellow snow.

Lebanon Israel Facts the Media Isn't Telling You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKq38COoTG8

I found this report on youtube most interesting.

Weren't you the one who likened the Hezbollah dominated areas to inner city areas controlled by gangs? Weren't you also the one insisting Lebanon had no control over Hezbollah? If my neighborhood was controlled by terrorist thugs and my gov't couldn't do anything about it, I would look at an Israeli invasion as a liberation. Unless of course, I was a supporter of the terrorist thugs, in which case I wouldn't really be an "innocent" civilian would I?

Have you ever worked with the French military? The last time I was deployed with the French, it took 26 of them to man 2 security posts around the flightline. There was only 4 guys actually working the post at any one given time, but they needed the other 22 to sleep in the bldg next to the posts. Even then, every time someone got and mad and yelled at them, regardless of their instructions, they let anyone who yelled at them onto the flightline in the aircraft parking area they were supposed to be protecting. The Italian Carbineri is a more professional military force, and they are only supposed to be national cops.

You forgot the North Korean communist hordes that will cross the border into South Korea. Of course, their advance will be halted by the first grocery store they come across.

Once they stop the attacks on Israel, I think Israel will stop the attacks on them.

As far as giving aid to them influencing them, I think that is a pipe dream. In the previous war, Israel agreed to withdraw based on the agreed upon condition that they would disarm. Israel withdrew, funny how Hezbollah still has all their weapons. After almost a month of rockets being fired at Israel and the killing of their soldiers and kidnapping of two soldiers, then Israel retaliates.

but Hezbollah weren't part of that agreement as far as I'm aware, it was an agreement between the two governments. The UN ordered Hezbollah to integrate into the Lebanese Army, but they have thus far refused to do so, which to be honest makes sense, because the Lebanese government is anti-Syrian but Hezbollah are not.

That's priceless!! I love it, its like being in a bad part of town counting your bank deposit and being shocked when you get mugged. Of course then its the GOVERNMENTS fault and responsibility to get them out!!!!! Jeez......

I have a real question for any one truly familiar with that area. Everyone there hates everyone outside of their country. So why are there roads going into and out of Israel? Why does Israel let all these palestinians work inside their country knowing that a bunch of them want to bomb the crap out of them? Why don't the other countries wall of Israel economically???? I don't really want to hear that they need the Israeli money either, you can't have it both ways I think......Anyone???
