Israel Blockades Lebanon

You can't "break" an international law you aren't a party to. The US military follows the rules of every international treaty to which the US is bound. Remember, it's not the law of the land until the President signs the treaty and the Senate ratifies it. (I'm not citing technicalities as an excuse, but that is the checks and balances built into the Constitution.) And it's funny you bring up the prison thing, as I figured you would. You do know, that Abu Grahib only broke as a news story when the media found out the military was preparing to hand out indictments based on it's own already completed investigation, right?

Thanks, this will make some good reading now that I found that "cartoon" font in Word. I only asked about the Palestinian report after I read about its existence in the Israeli report, by the way; I wasn't trying to imply anything. At least not this time.

Sorry dude, I forgot you guys may be at work due to the time difference. Don't let the boss find out

I didn't say it was a fake. I said it didn't look like the boy was tied up. Gajah said that himself after it was mentioned by another that he didn't look tied up. I also said it may be a pretty much made up story. Do you really think that picture shows anything resembling a human shield?

Because I travel almost every week, I use my work provided laptop in the hotels all the time. I just don't want to explain a virus or a history of going to sites that are taboo.

No, but I can't jump down Sanka's throat for his ridiculous crap and let this slide. One of America's biggest problems is a lack of consistency in middle-east/Muslim policy. I'm just trying to be consistent.

I think it may be foolish of Israel to ignore world opinion and rely completely on Uncle Sam. You never know, they might cut the apron strings one day

Having said that, I can think of another small country that ignores world opinion with a PM that knits wooley jumpers for GWB. Now that's 'panty waisted'

ICC is a political instrument like all international bodies and will be biased based on politics. Countries should not give up their ability to govern their own citizens to an international court.

I think there is a huge difference between Sanka and myself and it is not just the side of the argument that we are on.

Being an engineer, I am a natural skeptic. I nitpick things that don't look right. That picture doesn't look as if it fits the story. It would be interesting to know the whole story behind it. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was somewhat less than stated but that they did illegally detain the kid.

I know there's a difference and I wouldn't insult you by suggesting otherwise. You actually make coherent points.

I agree, that kid doesn't look like he's being used as a human shield. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to find out the story/caption is not what that's a photo of. Like I said though, I'd like to see proof, and I suspect it wouldn't be hard to find.

I managed to read the first 20 pages. What a complete load of Bovine Scatology. By using their logic, every democratic country in the world uses 'child soldiers' and 'child recruitment'.

Cadets, ROTC, etc can constitute child recruitment in that context. The article demeans the work of those who fight for the rights of children who are put on the front lines of armed conflict.

Israel is a country with mandatory service. Her citizens are proud to serve. The do not conscript children. there is nothing in there that is not done by school kids anywhere where their soldiers are at war.

The same goes for Hezbollah, they follow the treaties to which they have signed....

As to Abu Grahib, it was only investigated because a number of soldiers came forward and international organizations were pressuring for an organization. In other words, they couldn't keep it quiet any longer and had to do their best to look like it was the work of individuals....

No way does that type of stuff go on without people high in the chain of coofftopicnd knowing about it, they just didn't care or were ordering it.

Another story from one of sankas sites.

LOL I can't believe you're using a nearly 40 year old opinion piece to try to back up your argument.

How exactly does the Israeli withdrawl from Gaza fit into your theory that they're trying to grab as much land as possible?

How does the subsequent use of Gaza for smuggling in weapons and as a base for rocket attacks on Israel fit with your notion that the Palestinians in Gaza only want peace and self-determination?

And i think one of his other sources may be a little biased
