Israel Blockades Lebanon

I dont think the Lebanese people would be happy if Hezbollah attack the Lebanese army, so I think that the Lebanese army will meet much less resistance.

That's not the question... the idea is the Lebanese army will be responsible for protecting the border.

So if Hezbollah launch further attacks on Israel, the Lebanese army is expected to respond.

So they can either A. limit their responses, resulting in successful Hezbollah ops to attack the Israelis or B. Use effective responses and risk civilian casualties.

Therefore Hezbollah will be perfectly placed to damage support for the legitimate Lebanese government by simply continuing their tactic of attacking Israel from populated areas.

I think the Lebanese army would be better placed to stop the rocket attacks than Israel have been. They will have better knowledge about terrain and they are much more likely to be able to gather useful accurate intelligence.

BINGO, thats what I was saying. We seem to have a double standard when it comes to world policy.

And regarding the above post about the US/Israel wanting a war, OF COURSE THEY WANTED A WAR, they just didn't have the excuse. Similar to the Gulf of Tonkin incident in Vietnam, they just needed a made up situation or a very MINOR situation to use as an excuse to expand their borders and ask for more money from the First National Bank of US. If they want to fight a war on their own, fine, but we shouldn't finance it for them with our tax dollars.

You can post as many legitimate arguements or articles as you like on this thread, but the pro Israelis then tend to put on the blinkers and completely iignore them.

I have posted articles & essays, maps & published Zionist plans to deliberately fragment the area, but all of this has either been dubbed 'conspiracy' or people just pretend these documents do not exist. Such is the pro-Israeli spin I suppose.

Furthermore, the majority of these articles have been written by Jews

Of course this whole debacle has been planned years in advance

Do you honestly think this is news?

LEBANON AND ISRAEL HAVE BEEN AT WAR SINCE 1948

What part don't you get?

I can stick a tinfoil hat on and say "The USA was planning to attack Japan with nukes for 4 years!!! Look at this map of them moving across the Pacific!!!"

That doesn't make it a conspiracy, it's just foreign policy vs. a nation who declared war on you.

Funny how things turn out

Following is a report prepared by The Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies’ "Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000." The main substantive ideas in this paper emerge from a discussion in which prominent opinion makers, including Richard Perle, James Colbert, Charles Fairbanks, Jr., Douglas Feith, Robert Loewenberg, David Wurmser, and Meyrav Wurmser participated. The report, entitled "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm," is the framework for a series of follow-up reports on strategy.

And what part of that strategy for Israel defending their Northern border do you have a problem with?

It can hardly be called a conspiracy when the US and Israel choose to publish their agenda.

Considering what the plan recommended in 1996 has now come to fruition, I find it difficult that anyone could be naive enough to beleive this wasn't planned a decade ago

Wow... so it's now a crime to plan to stop a neighbour attacking you, knowing they have attacked you before and with near certain knowledge that they will again.

The fact that this strategy was set out years in advance does tend to prove that this had very little to do with the kidnap of 2 soldies and more to do with the Israeli/US plan in the Middle East.

Or is it purely coincidental that both countries are pretty much following both plans to the letter?

It proves nothing of the sort.

It simply proves that Israel had experienced Hezbollah aggression before and decided to deal with the fact of one of their neighbours fighting a proxy war through a third immediately over the border, in a more decisive way than waiting for the UN to act on their resolution.

Once again... having a plan for a neighbour you know will attack you doesn't mean that neighbour is any less to blame for their attack.

1. Israel is entitled to protect its Northern border. Why is it a surprise that they anticipated being attcked by a known enemy?

2. As I said earlier, if Hezbollah's goal was simply to get Israelk out of Lebanon they should have disbanded in 2000. They reamred and have sent missles into Israel for years.

3. The fake photos publishes in Reuters, the AP and NY Times that come from "photo journalists" in Lebanon indicate a conspriracy to spin Hezbollah as victims of a war they started.

NewLearner said:
I think it is safe to say that Israel has a higher percentage of Jews than the U.S., wouldn't you? We also have a larger Chaldean Christian population than Iraq, but do you think the Chaldeans have a huge impact on us? No.

Yes it is safe to say, and I already stated I had typed that sentence incorrectly...

What has our ally provided us with in terms of protecting our oil interests? Nothing.

When was the last time a company didn't mind when a billion dollar customer left them?

Two for 300 million....

Hatred always has a cause.

Who is comparing Israel to Nazi Germany?

Once again, these comments were directed to DC in response to his comments and are not implying anything about Israel-Nazi Germany.

When did I imply Israel is using them?

You really need to read what I am replying to, or stop commenting on them.

I am not arguing that Israel is using them, these comments were directed specifically towards DC.

I wasn't.

Yes, it would....

No, I am pretty sure he agrees with my statements.

If it would kill his enemies while limiting the casualties on his side, he is all for it.

I know that, he doesn't.

Yes, they are reactions.

Oh yes, time and effort. Much easier simply to kill your enemies than to reason with them...

Who mentioned he was being sarcastic?

Fine with me.

By changing their minds.

They are willing to die for the cause, so change the cause.

No, you have repeatedly said that to value the lives of innocents who are not citiens is treason.

You have repeatedly stated you would be willing to kill millions in order to protect the life of one soldier.

You have repeatedly stated that you value the life of an American over any amount of non-American lives.
