ok here's the story. so first my cydia would crash on startup and so i did the thing were i go into the folders /private/var/lib/apt/lists and delete everything except partial. when i rebooted and loaded cydia back up again i have like 1 min to do w/e before i get the pop up message saying error: refreshing data...failed to fetch.... then after i exit out its back to staying at reloading data. so iv figured out that if i keep deleting the files i get that one minute of browsing and w/e, so my question is, how can i fix this problem so cydia can work? i don't remember were i saw this but some people said reinstall cydia in cydia or something so, if there's anything i can do in that 1 min that would fix i need to know the steps so i can do it fast, and also i don't want to go through the rejailbreaking, restoring process so yeah.

itouch is either 1rst or 2nd genreation not really sure, forgot when i bought it

using windows 7
i have ssh with wincsp
itouhc is in 3.1.2
(in another method i have tried) i have and used the terminal application thing and after i put in the pass word and type in what ever im suppose to after, nothing worked.
i had rock but apparently cydia took it or something so thats why i have to go through with this
(another method) i tried using the clear cydia cache program but that came up with some error message which didnt clear the cache
