iTouch & iTunes Trouble!!!! HELP!!!?

Okaii so first ive never owned an itouch or any apple product... i recently bought an itouch 3G from a pawn shop. i downloaded i tunes to my sis computer. The ipod comes with music already but i just like some songs not all of them and i want to delete those that i dont want... when i plugged my ipod to the computer and opened itunes it said if i wanted to Download&Update or just download.. i clicked download and update,... then it said that it was going to erase the media and apps... i canceled but idk how to work itunes will someone help please!!.. how do i add music and delete music.. what do i have to do??.... please if you can tell me as much info as you can it will be super helpful:) thank you for helping!!!!!
 
Go to the Apple website.
Download the manual for your product.
Read it.
 
On my iPod, I decline syncing, and then choose manual management of music and video, then drag and drop onto the ipod tab on the left sidebar. If you don't see the sidebar, hit Ctrl S. Any questions? [email protected]
