Okay, this whole thing started a month ago when I called for being unhappy with my plan, and my phone was in terrible shape. I still had to wait until October 2011 for my 3yr contract to expire.
So I called in and they sent me to the retention line, where a man changed up my plan which I was fine with at that time, and offered to sell me a phone at a DISCOUNTED price since my parents have been with Rogers for over 13 years. I asked how much I could get the SE Xperia X10 for and he said $199. Notice he never told me ANYTHING about my contract, in fact he never even mentioned the word CONTRACT in the entire conversation. He said if I was unhappy with the phone, I could return it within 15 days of purchase.
I bought the phone, and a few days later, I received a package from the UPS containing my phone box, and a Rogers Wireless User guide. I bought this phone around May 27th and on JUNE 30TH I receive a call from a Rogers Representative and he's asking if I had any question about Rogers services or my new contract, and I asked him if my contract has been extended he said yes, till MAY 2013. I called Rogers the very same day complaining about why I was not informed about my contract extension and requested that my old contract expiry date should be in place. However after 3 representatives, a lady told me that I was supposed to recieve 3 papers with my phone verifying my order details and my contract extension WHICH WERE NOT SENT. She then told me to contact a manager.
So today I did, the manager was VERY stubborn and rude, and didn't believe that their sales rep. never told me about the 3yr contract extension. "I'm just going by his notes, it says here you agreed to the 3 yr term." The very last thing I wanted from Rogers was to stay with them longer, if I had been informed about the 3 yr term I wouldn't have bought the phone. So then she said "It's been more than 15 days so I can't do anything, either wait until 2013, or pay full price for the phone ($400) to get your old contract expiry date". I kept on telling her that I wasn't informed until 15 days later but that b**** never listened and kept repeating that she's just going by the notes. I feel like I've been scammed because none of this was my fault. What could I do or say to them which will make me get my old contract expiry date back? Please do help and refrain from immature comments. Thanks!
Or even if someone knows a way to get out of the whole contract because they made changes without my permission or something, that would be awesome.
