JailBroken IpodTouch iOS 4.2.1 help!!!?

Ok i have a ipod touch 4g with iOS 4.2.1 and i jailbroke it, its a tethered jailbreak. My computer was taking and my ipod died. I have to use redsn0w to boot it but my ipod wont go into DFU mode. What do i do? It turns on but it says it dead and needs to be charged. it is plugged into the computer, and i have tried other sources to charge it!
