i hook up a 1000 watt amp to my jeep and after like 30 minutes of it being on, not playing, the car died, i didnt even get the stereo set uo to play the subs yet, so i jumped the car but it wouldnt idle i had to keep my foot on the gas to keep the engine running, any idea what could be causing this? i had the inline fuse and everything set up how i think it should be.. thanks

If you can get your car battery checked out to see if its holding a charge...

Also check your alternator to see if it is working properly...

If you have a voltmeter, measure the voltage of your battery. It should read over 12 volts, like 12.6 to 14.2, something like that. If the voltage is under 12, you probably have a weak battery or alternator. If you can get a buddy to start the jeep, check it with the engine running, the number should be higher, if it is not, your alternator is toast. If it is, I would look for a short. If you have a battery charger, try charging the battery overnight and try again in the morning.

Without being there, that is all the help I can give...hope it helps.
