Not sure of the specs. But is a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. It is manual. When idle oil pressure drops to zero and dash says to check gauges. The mechanic is stumped as though this problem is intermittent. His suggestion was sludge at the bottom of the oil pan being slushed around at idle. Regardless though oil pressure is said to be lost the car runs normally.
It has 97k miles. I know for a fact it has been run on Mobil 1 synthetic oil since new at 5000k intervals.
I am thinking its more of an electrical sensor type problem. As this car has been used offroad, and salt ,road dirt and water may have accumulated at the connections and caused some type of corrosion
