"Jewish people"! What is the penalty if someone refuses to use the term

to/about you, and insists on "Jew"? Do you give them the cold shoulder, or let them know some other way that you're miffed, or wouldn't it bother you? Would you consider it to be a deliberate attempt to bait?
And to those of you who say (heard it before) it's not an issue, why do you use the term "Jewish person/people" then? At the very least, it's clumsy and superfluous.
