your religion?
@ John Arguelles: 1)Are you saying that the Christian Bible is not interpreted correctly when
translated?
2) "...someone says...Jesus is Messiah..." Christians base their belief on this by
their Old Testament scriptures which they assume are originally yours. But if #1
question is affirmative, I won't dispute your claim
@ affinity: ",,,blood sacrifice for atoning..." Was it at one time a requirement if not now?

There are many...

Misconceptions include:

Our religion requires blood sacrifice for atonement.

We and our religion are very focused on Christianity and think about it most of the time and adapt our religion around it.

That the Jewish Biblical Messiah will be a Divine being who will die for others' sins

That the Pharisees hated Jesus and had him killed

That we use the blood of children to celebrate Passover and/or Purim. (This falsehood is still popular in the Arab world and in parts of Russia.)

That Jews think they are "better" than others.

All false.
All spread on hate sites.

“The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye. The more light you shine on it, the more it will contract.”

Oy

There are so many
Just google Jew or Jewish and most of what you get will be anti-Jewish propaganda sites.

The most common one that comes up here is that "chosen people" is some sort of racial supremacy thing.
In reality, we believe that we were chosen to be "a nation of priests" -- ie: to be obligated to a bunch of extra religious laws that other people are not obligated to -- and held responsible when we don't follow them.

As the old joke goes --

Moishe the tailor is killed by Cossacks and goes up before the throne of God
God: "Welcome my son! Please enter into he happiness of my palace!"
Moishe: "Um... Before I get on my way -- can I ask you a question?"
God: "Ask and I will answer my son!"
Moishe: "Is it true we are the chosen people"
God: "Yes indeed'
Moishe: "Do me one favour then. Next time, please choose someone else!"

That Israeli Jews are Europeans and Russians, when in fact 52% aren't.

One big one is that it's just Xtianity without Jesus.

Most people don't really know a thing about Judaism; they just assume based on what they see and are almost always wrong. That can get kind of annoying.

Where do I start? Well, for starters how non-Jews misinterpret Jewish scripture, How people can misuse the Hebrew language, How someone can say Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus death on the cross is away of atonement, and this one get's me the most saying Jesus is G-d, many anti semitic saying we believe in hurting people or believe non-Jews are animals, on-and-on it goes. It's just craziness!
