I plan to take this test in the near future, but I wanted people to tell me about their experience with this test.
1. How long did you study Japanese for until you took the test?
2. What books did you use?
3. How was each section like on the test?
4. How many hours did you study per day?

You may find this page useful. There's a forum there which I think more people with JLPT experience go to.

I'm taking my first JLPT test(N4) at the end of the year and approximate studied for 2 years. used Minna no Nihongo textbook
