I'm going to Wilmington for the weekend and am planning on fishing off the pier while some friends sun bathe. I was curious on which pier looks like the better pier to go to.

wilmington is probably in the worst possible location in los angeles harbor for ANY sort of fishing at all.
my suggestion would be to go a bit further south to at least seal beach where there is a nice pier or to huntington or newport beaches.
don't bother with the other direction right now as there was quite a large sewage spill in san pedro by the breakwater. in another week or two, this may be cleared enough to make it safe.
and l have no idea who either johnny mercer or roger is. jolly or not so jolly.
