Jon and Kate Plus 8 On Welfare?

Did Jon and Kate really get welfare early on in their marriage. i have been thinking alot about the selfishness of multiple births with no money since Octo-mom hit the news.
I love J and K plus 8 but I just wonder...
Please let me know if you have any insight...
 
no, they were never on welfare. jon is an IT analyst, he makes bank, and Kate was a nurse... they never lacked cash in the beginning. Even after the birth of the six babies, they still made due with what they had.
