the internet isnt working ? i have turned on wifi (was that right? ) and then i tried facebook and google etc. and says it is not connected to internet ?

how do i connect it to the internet ?
i changed the memory card before i turned the phone on ... could that be it ???
i have the sim card that they sent me but changed the memory card to my old one
