In simple terms please?

Is there anything new that I have to pay for?

Is it something to do with the Apps on it?

Also, if its not the apps, what are they?

I didnt have those on my last phone lol.
 
It allows faster data rates in data transfer.
Simply it allows u to browse faster than ordinary gprs, and also supports video call
(There is no need of any applications. It requires support from the network)
