Exactly as the title says.

I'm looking to take either one of these fighting styles, but I do not know what is right for me.

If anyone has any experience in these fields could they please list some advantages to these fighting styles. I hear Jiu Jitsu is extremely good, but I'm really just not into the grappling. However, if that is what is going to get me to beat my opponent if I come to a point where I need to defend myself, that is what I will do.

If you don't like grappling than Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not for you but Japanese JJ may be. Karate or TKD toss a coin that'll work or you could take a free lesson and talk to those in the gym to get a feeling for where you plan to train.

Karate: There are different types of karate like kyokushin, shotokan etc. Karate focuses mainly on punching but they do kicking too but its more of a punching kind of martial art though. If you prefer punching over kicking than you should try karate.

Taekwondo: There's WTF(World Taekwondo Federation) and ITF(International Taekwondo Federation) types of taekwondo. The creator of taekwondo did ITF. WTF focuses more on the fundamentals of taekwondo like kicking and forms and sparring so they focus on all of those areas. ITF focuses more on self-defense techniques. I myself do WTF Taekwondo and it's really amazing. Before i did WTF i tried ITF and i didnt like it as much as i like WTF but were not the same person so that parts up to u. Taekwondo the martial art itself focuses mainly on kicks more than any other kind of strike. Youll learn how to punch but not that much. If you like kicking more than punching then taekwondo is the martial art for you.

Jui-jitsu: Jui-jitsu is as you know a grappling martial art but focuses on submissions. It is and has been proven to be the most efficient ground game there is. There's Jui-jitsu with a gi and jui-jitsu without a gi (No-Gi). A gi is the uniform you where when doing jui-jitsu and no-gi is when you don't have to. I do no-gi jui-jitsu and have been for about 5 months now and jui-jitsui's helped me out alot. If you wana learn submissions then i recommend learning this martial art because it's the best but also keep in mind that you cant just have a ground game you need stand up too if you really wana win a fight. I no taekwondo, muay thai, wing chun, wrestling and jui-jitsu. So yea dont forget that either

I hope all this has helped. I told u everything i no about each martial art and also 1 more thing, something u shuld do is go to a free trial for each of the classes and see which one u like best. Thats a good way to decide.
