im 14 and need some good books to help with my english coursework/exams.. i'm looking for something that would impress my teacher because my sibling was like amazing at school and im not doing so good. I done my last essay on 'the lovely bones' by Alice Sebold, and my teacher said it was a really interesting mature book to pick. So something like that, to do with murder or crime would be good. Also Glasgow Based books would be good (like about teenagers). Thank you so much if you know any.. :D
Alot of people have already picked lord of the flies , animal farm and other ones i can't remember il say if anyone mentions them.,

Sherlock Holmes! :D
It certainly is about crime and (in a lot of stories) murder. There isn't much about teenagers, however. However, Sherlock Holmes is great no matter what.

Newes from the Dead by Mary Hooper

It's a true story about a girl, Anne Greene, who surrived the Gallows. Not only is it a mature book, it's got an amazing story behind it, and is just a great book to read.
