Kyle XY.......... He doesn't have a bell button. Why is that?

Rosalie and I were watching Kyle XY (it's on abc family) and I had a question about it. Why doesn't he have a belly button? It's so weird!
 
I haven't seen the show, but I was told by a friend who loves it that it is because, since he was an alien, he wasn't birthed by human means. No umbilical cord means no belly button.

because he wasn't ever in utero. no umbilical cord, no belly button. he grew in an incubator.
 
He is a clone, so he wasn't born like a normal baby. So no umbilical cord. He was left in a tank for fifteen years, instead of being born normally.

Edit:

No, he is NOT an alien. He is a CLONE. Don't listen to these people, they have no clue what they are talking about! =S
