Lag spikes in my internet?

Me and my family just moved into a new house and we had this house built so its brand new. And I'm kind of a big gamer, Xbox live, PSN, and online computer games. And all our internet connections are going through the wall. But for some reason in my games I lag out alot and my ping will shoot up super high. If you game you know this can get old quick. So I need to fix the problem but the fact is I don't know what the problem is. I called the cable company and they said we have one of the best connections they have seen. So I know it cant be that. Any ideas?
