Lara won't scream in TRA (PS2)?

I have an NTSC version of Tomb Raider Anniversary. No matter what I do, I can't get Lara to scream from high places (e.g. St. Francis Folly tower), plus there is no "wooshing" sound. Is there a way to fix this problem or are each NTSC PS2 versions like this?
