Lg Flare Virgin Mobile text delay?

We have been looking at phones and my mom got the Virgin Mobile Flare by LG and lately the texts have been coming in late (1 or 2 days) and I wanted to know if it was the phone or just a minor problem that will go away.

probably too late, but the problem is with the phone.

to reset go to main screen
enter ##847446#

scroll to edit. make sure your number is correct, hit ok, then hit OK again

phone will restart itself and texts will come through. for a while.

best bet is to switch phones.
