Lg rumor touch picture messaging problems?

I recently bought the lg rumor touch from virgin mobile. I have been extremely happy with it all except for the pic messaging. When i try to send a pic message it keeps saying "sending" until it finally says the message failed to send. When people send pics to me they dont show up. Is there anyway to fix this?
