Lincoln Continental Floor Shifter Assy how to remove gear selector handle to replace?

I just recently bought a floor shifter assy for my crown victoria to do a floor shift conversion. (those in the crown victoria mod world would know what im talking about) well my question is how would i go about removing the part where your hand sits on the shifter. the button is missing and the grip part is kinda nasty. Also is there a replacement part for just this area in question. I have a ford part number but it is not working. here is the part number F80C-7K004-ANW I type this in on a ford part number search and i get nothing in return. the part in question came out of a 98 continental and its not showing up anywhere online..

Using a flat tip screw driver depress the small metal tap on the front side of the shifter handle. The shifter will need to be in low gear to access this tap. Hope this helps. Christopher
