I have a new Linksys E1000. I have been trying without success to connect a Nintendo DSi to it.
Broadcast SSID is on. Security is WPA2/WPA mixed mode. DHCP range permitted is 100-149 (e.g., 192.168.1.149 is the highest it will assign).
I have already attached several Win7 and WinXP laptops, plus a wireless HP printer, an iTouch and an Android phone. Different devices support WEP or WPA or WPA2, so I've been happy with the mixed mode capability of the E1000.
Here's the problem: The DSi keeps giving error codes on the Connection Test. I've been using Advanced Mode setup. Scanning for an access point finds the correct one. Then I continue with the configuration to select the security mode (WPA2/TKIP, usually) and enter the pass code (I've got the darn 8-character thing memorized by now). I've tried entering the hex code in upper and lower case (although it shouldn't matter).
I've also tried manually entering the SSID with the same results, and I've tried all security options from WPA2/AES to WEP to "none".
I'll also mention that distance is not a problem; I'm in the same room as the router or sometimes in the next room.
Can anyone shed light on what kinds of things can go wrong with a E1000-DSi connection if you have:
-- Known working router (multiple other devices attached)
-- Found the access point SSID using automatic scan on Advance Settings
-- Entered the correct passphrase
-- Kept it as DHCP and automatic DNS
...But still can't connect?
Thanks--
Mike
