Gays! They're everywhere. They're even, according to the Voice today, in yr preschools, dressin up their barbiez! Shocking. So: the story is full of predictably over-earnest parents: "Instead of trans, Arnold has wondered whether Joseph might simply be gay. 'I sometimes try to pick up clues as to who he's attracted to,' he says, 'and I have no idea.' He's approached PFLAG, but isn't sure whether that's the right place for his son. PFLAG, he says, never called back" and Voice-y specious preachiness: "Kids are a tough subject for gay adults. When you're a minority tarred with pedophilia and sexual depravity, you learn to stay away from children." The only surprising thing about it all, really, is this photo. We wonder how someone went about deciding that dressing little Tyler or whomever up as a leatherdaddy was less exploitative than outfitting him as a construction worker or Indian. Sorry, Native American.
