...encounter various monsters/creatures? I'm looking for a book described to me by my girlfriend by Edward Gorey. From what I remember she said it was a book about to children who are exploring or something and encounter one peculiar monster after another. She said it was kind of scary but not scary in a bad way.
There are a few titles I've found illustrated by Edward Gorey about a cat and a dog doing things but I don't think those are them (Though I can't know because there aren't any clear book summaries) Anyone know what book I'm talking about?
