Looking for Signal Booster (or Antenna?) to pick up wireless internet signals in...

...my area.? My Laptop computer has a built-in network card which picks up both the secure and unsecure wireless signals in my area. I am wondering if there is some type of signal booster to increase the number of bars in the signal, especially for the free signals that are sometimes available in certain areas. Any product suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
um you could buy a 'wireless access point', but making use of it would involve adding it to whoever's network you're picking up, and they probably wouldn't want that. If its unsecure, try to access its configuration page, which is commonly 192.168.1.1. If that doesn't work search the web for other common ones, and if you can get onto it you can use the config. page to set up your wireless access point to get its signal. Once again, i'm not condoning this because its illegal, but with the right unsecure and uncustomized network, its quite simple.
 
well I have this dish receiver that has a 15 mile rang on it but its 300$
