I'm basically a book phagocyte. If I'm even halfway interested in a book I'll start reading it and not be able to put it down until I've finished it. But lately I can't seem to find any books that I really want to read. Nothing really interesting. I'd love to get any opinions I can.
I love horror and suspense/thrillers. I also love fantasy and fairy tales. Mystery is pretty good too. I'm not exactly big on science fiction, but I've read some of it that I've really liked. I love it whenever there's some comedy mixed in somewhere, but I also love a good twist--something you wouldn't have expected.
So, if it helps. . . .
Horror/suspense/thriller-wise, I love Dean Koontz. He's my favorite author. I also like Stephen King and John Saul. When it comes to fantasy I like The Lord of the Rings, The Belgariad, The Elenium, The Inheritance Cycle, The Looking Glass Wars and authors like Gail Carson Levine and Shannon Hale. My science fiction experience is kinda limited, though. I liked Dune and Journey to the Center of the Earth, but I hated Ender's Game with a passion.
I'm willing to give pretty much anything a shot--as long as it's not something like a romance with a little bit of plot on the side. Or something that I think is going to be completely depressing or boring. And I'm sick of vampires and werewolves. I read Twilight and didn't like it. End of story. Also, the less sex the better.
Thank you!
