My parents liked the movie "Everybody's Fine". If you have not seen this DVD, I suggest the military themed movie "Saving Private Ryan" or very good drama "Seven Pounds".
As I am 50 years old (but the opposite sex - female) I am going to reccomend some that appeal to me. "The Departed", Leonardo Di Caprio and Matt Damon, anything from the "Rocky" series.
He may remember a movie called "Von Ryan's Express." It is an action film set during World War 2 starring Frank Sinatra. A great old movie from the 60's.
