Im in the market for a vehicle that can go off-road and through deep snow. (my grandfather is getting old and I need to be able to visit him to make sure he's ok in the winter and he lives on a dirt road i an area with heavy snow in winter) Im not wealthy so Im looking in the 3-5 thousand dollar range I dont really care what year it is I just said mid 90s cause I figured it would be in my price range. I like 4runners (but am worried about the head problems I hear about) and was wondering if anyone had experience with a japanese truck (wont waste money on american) that could suggest something reliable for my price range I will def pick the best answer please help Im doing my own research but would like some real world experience thank you for reading this overly long question.
by reliable I just mean something I can fix. In other words something that isnt likely to die if maintained. something that has a solid engine & tranny and drive components.
(are old jeeps reliable? thats about the only american car I would buy.)
