KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd will conduct a "careful" study on the local fast-food market before it decides to introduce a third brand in its group of fast-food stores.
The company, which currently holds the franchises for the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut chains in Malaysia, is planning to introduce another franchise brand, Taco Bell.
Fast-food division president George Ting said the franchise- holders of Taco Bell, Tricon Restaurants International, have been planning to introduce the brand to this part of the world.
KFC Malaysia would be the right place to start and check on their plans. They hold the master franchise from Yum! for KFC, Pizza Hut & Long John Silver's for Malaysia. The only brand missing is Taco Bell.
