I'm thinking about switching to raw feeding for my 4 dogs.

I've tried to do the research, but I'm having trouble finding a good place to start. There is a TON of information out there, and I find a lot of conflicting info.

Veggies or no veggies? rice or no rice?

What are the potential risks? I spoke to my vet and he strongly suggested against raw feeding, said he had a dog come in with e coli. (He then told me about the wonderful Royal Canin products they sold, which I know is total crap.)

Any other helpful info or links you'd be willing to share. Like I said, I'm brand new at this, just looking to get some suggestions before I make the decision!

Don't listen to that E Coli Salmonella BS your vet wants to feed you. A dogs stomach has an PH of 1 when the digestive enzymes are working. (Very acidic)

If you want to use money wisely and feed your dog what they actually need/use don't feed veggies or rice or any other crap like that. They DON'T need it.

There are risks with any feeding. Nothing is fool proof. As long as you research and supervise your dogs you're doing all the things right.

I have an Alaskan Malamute. His vet, my brothers vet and 3 trainers I worked with all are against raw feeding.

I feed my dog Blue Buffalo Wilderness. It is a natural food that is safe for him to eat.

I supplement his food with vegetables and the occasional meat for variety because the truth is it is unrealistic to expect a dog to eat the same dry kibble throughout his life. His nutrition comes from the kibble.

Rethink this, why take on the expense, work and the risk of disease when there really are great commercial foods out there.
