In chapter 9, I need to know:
1.A. The ;lord of the flies' is literally:
B. What does the 'lord of the flies' symbolize?
2. What does Simon do to the figure trapped in the rocks?
3. Simon realizes that the Beast on the mountain is really a dead man. What does he intend to do with this information and why?
4. Piggy says that he and Ralph should find the tribe "to make sure nothing happens."(p.148) what is his ulterior motive for wanting to go?
5. When Ralph and Piggy see Jack 'painted and garlanded,' sitting 'like an idol,'(p.149) what does this description say about Jack?
