I found some ancient box with all 3 lord of the rings books. It says on the side of the box [Henry Copyright sign George Allen & Unwin Ltd. 1973.All three plus the box looks old and Im sure its the first editions. How much are they worth??

What does the publish date in the actual books say? Because they were first printed in 1954-55, not 1973.

If they're from '73, they're something around the 13th printing and not worth too much more than present-day copies.

Well the trilogy is not worth as much as the actual Lord of the Rings book which is 1200 pages long, has 9 books and 3 parts (The Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers, and The Return of the King). Because really, the Lord of the Rings was never a trilogy and never will be a trilogy. They just split the Lord of the Rings into three individual book parts because 1200 pages of small print gets tiring! But it will not be worth much. Maybe about 150 dollars. If you had the original Lord of the Rings you would get around 500 dollars.
Good luck!
