My lock doesnt look exactly like this but it is a master lock and the keys look like this

i have my bike locked up to a pole near my friends house. I lost my key this morning and I have no clue what to do. I didnt register my lock like other websites told me to request another key. Nor do I have paper work that my bike is mine. Its like ten years old. -__- what the heck do i do. I swear I am not trying to steal a bike. Im just trying to get mine back and stupid me lost the only key I had in my purse. I have no tools whatsoever. Please educate me on what to do. I dont want to get ripped off by someone nor do I want to be accused of stealing. I dont have any pictures with my bike but I do have a picture of my bike just on its kick stand when i cleaned it up. ANyways please help. I live in San Jose, Ca if that helps anything at all.
