Thursday night’s winner for best*oddity comes from Louisiana Tech vs. UAB, where a fight broke out with just over six minutes remaining in the second half. The fight led to ejections, which led to something you don’t see everyday: four-on-five basketball. And the team with four outscored the team with five. Somehow.
But first, the fight. Here’s a replay from the broadcast:

All but four Louisiana Tech players were ejected, many of them for leaving the bench during the fight, so the Bulldogs were forced to finish the game with just four players on the court. UAB had six players still available after the ejections.

UAB won the game 79-70, but, amazingly, Louisiana Tech’s four remaining players — senior forward Erik McCree, junior forward Omar Sherman, freshman guard DaQuan Bracey and freshman guard Jalen Harris — outscored the Blazers 20-16 over the game’s final six minutes despite the home team’s one-man advantage.— Brent Conklin (@brentconklin) January 27, 2017
