lying to my girl about sex partners?

i never told my girl about the actual number of girls i've been with because i didn't want her to think bad of me or something like that. the other day my buddy said somethin to her made her think i've been round the block more than a few times. she confronted me bout this and i denied it. she asked me if i was tellin the truth and i said yes. i dont understand why she has to know this bout me, or why its such a big deal to her because it dont affect her now. i dont know if i should tell her, not really sure what her reaction will be cause it isnt small.

do u think what she doesnt know wont hurt her?
