I hate Maroon 5's newer songs as much as I hate No Doubt's Hey Baby, Hella Good, and most especially, Gwen Stefani's solo career (though I like Cool and 4 In The Morning).
Their singles from Maroon 5's first album is much like No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom. I liked their first 4 singles as much as I liked No Doubt's 'Don't Speak' and 'Spiderwebs'.
For Maroon 5's second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long, out of Makes Me Wonder, Won't Go Home Without You, and Goodnight Goodnight, I only hated Makes Me Wonder. Lyrically, the first one would be something No Doubt would write for 'Rock Steady', while their latter two songs would be from 'Tragic Kingdom'.
Next is the album I would begin hating on Maroon 5, Hands All Over. Misery would have been a good song, but I have been wondering where is the old vibe of Maroon 5? If compared to Gwen Stefani, it would have been borderline from Rock Steady and Gwen Stefani's solo career.
Next is their horrible song 'Moves Like Jagger'. In my opinion, it is Maroon 5's 'Hollaback Girl' and the 'Hollaback Girl' of 2011 (or was it LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem')? If the latter one is the 'Hollaback Girl' of 2011, then I assume that 'Moves Like Jagger' is 'My Humps' then. Both 'Hollaback Girl' and 'Moves Like Jagger' have horrible lyrics, and are extremely overplayed during their times (2005 and 2011).
Finally, I would conclude my rant by ranting about their latest song 'Payphone' from their new studio album. This one is Maroon 5's 'The Sweet Escape'. Just like 'Hollaback Girl' and 'Moves Like Jagger', 'Payphone' and 'The Sweet Escape' are comparable to each other. They both have horrible lyrics like the former two, and feature fake rappers (who in my opinion, are pop, not hip hop).
