Thinking of taking my wife and baby on a short vacation to Macau, but I'm doubtful - I'm not sure it's a good or safe city to visit for a young family. All the reports I get say it is for wild swinging singles. I wonder if we'd be out of place there? I'm interested in it for the history side of things, especially any and all information about its Portuguese history as I studied some aspects of European colonialism so I'm interested in how the Portuguese fared there and what they did with the place.
Somebody told me Macau is known for two things - gambling and hookers. Neither of those appeal to me at all. Should I pass over Macau in favor of someplace else then?
Damn perfect would be a daily bus tour with tourguide in English with stops for pictures, shopping, tourist experiences, etc.
