I agree, Air Jordan is the better athlete, but better Basketball player? Hell no.

Just like LeBron James is the better athlete when compared to Kobe Brant, but not better Basketball player.

Scoring - Michael Jordan averaged more, but Magic Johnson has a better field-goal percentage. I think scoring is equal, but some could debate Jordan was superior.

Rebounding - Michael Jordan has never 9.0 rebounds. The rebounds go to Magic Johnson.

Passing - Magic Johnson.

Overall - Magic Johnson could play all 5 positions. How many players in the NBA today, can accomplish something like that?

It's obvious Magic Johnson is better than Michael Jordan. Air Jordan just had a image.

LeBron James will be better than Jordan at the end of his career.
 
Nothing to discredit Magic Johnson who in my opinion is the greatest Laker ever but come on, Jordan is one of 3 people in the history of the league to average over 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in one season. The other two being Oscar Robertson and Lebron James.

Magic never had defensive player of the year award,

Both won multiple titles and mvps but Jordan won more on both categories.

And head to head Jordan beat Magic and the Lakers to win his first championship and Magic had not been to the finals since. I would say his early retirement had a lot to do with that but still Jordan beat Magic and the Lakers.

the verdict is still out on Lebron and he quite possibly can be the greatest of them all but we have to see how the rest of his career goes and how many titles and mvps he wins.
 
Yea, Magic is better. Jordan has as much hype/image/mystique as actual talent. So Jordan get blown up to 3 and 4 times better than he really was.

Better than both them was Wilt Chamberlain, and you have to throw Kareem Abdul-Jabar in there as well.
