Mainstream Christians, Do you consider fellow Christians who lack a belief in hell...

...as heretics? I've noticed that several Christians on this forum don't believe in hell at all. I'm an atheist now, but while being raised by my baptists parents, I was constantly reminded of what might await me in the after life if I did not conform to Christian doctrine. Therefore, I'm curious how you feel about your fellow Christians who lack a belief in hell.

Are they heretics in your eyes?

I believe that it is only up to God to Judge and that the Holy Bible says, "Judge not lest yea be judged with which measure yea mete so shall it also be measured unto you"

No, Christians have many different beliefs. Heresy is probably more involved in views about God. People have different views about many things, and thinking this way or that way about Hell is not necessarily heresy.

If you preach that there is no hell, then yeah, that is heresy. However, I usually take a different approach if I'm trying to bring someone to Christ. I don't threaten them by dangling hell in their face, I try to love them and tell them about the love of Jesus.

However, if they ask if I believe in hell, and if I believe they go there if they reject God, I am truthful.
