That is nothing more than propaganda. The protesters at the start in particular were demanding the right to kill foxes with hounds. Basically they use hounds to flush out, track and rip apart foxes. Their primary excuse at the time was they had to "exercise their horses". Only when that excuse didn't wash did they start shouting about how the rural economy would collapse without fox hunting. It has nothing to do with guns at all.

In the Tony Martin case, if I remember it correctly the boy he killed, was shot while he was running away. At which point Tony Martin's life was not in danger. Therefore he exceeded what was considered to be "reasonable force".

If you're going to post a video from YouTube as your evidence I highly recommend you actually watch it first and get to grips with the issues that video is presenting.

No, but mostly and no. Are your friends in the UK also members of the BNP? It's starting to sound like they are.

Hand guns in the UK were banned after a mass shooting spree in Dunblane.

Hey, the UK is the country that went and banned swords, even for iaidoka and kenjutsuka...yes I think the ban is stupid but it did happen.

Interesting since swords can still be bought.

Plenty of western european countries have bans against specific items. Nunchaku, throwing stars, throwing knives, spring assisted knives, etc are illegal in most countries.

That doesn't mean you cannot buy them or sell them. It just means that they are illegal to own or sell, and noone has notified the authorities (yet) that someone is selling them.

Fine I'll make it simple for you. All those links say if you have a valid reason to own or carry a sword. Then you basically can. Martial arts counts as a valid reason. Just wanting one for fun doesn't.

Yes you can as long as it is NOT for self-protection and it fits within certain physical parameters

That does not mean you cannot USE it a a self-protection tool, it means that it cannot be carried for that purpose.

I understood that that last act they made law made it a crime to carry any pocket knife unless you could prove you needed it for your work and outlawed general carry.

I could be wrong but I heard from friends the cops will charge you if they catch you with a knife and can't prove you need it for work.

People living there would know better of they are enforcing the laws.
