Managing memory on my T-Mobile Dash?

I recently bought a micro SD card for my Dash, but my phone still gets an error message saying I'm low on memory. How do I access the micro SD card on my phone to manage my memory / storage? The card is 2G which is more than enough but I don't think the phone is currently using it. Any ideas?
