Manual transmission not working on friend's 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS.?

My friend has a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS with a 5-speed manual transmission. He was driving the car yesterday and it was shifting fine, but today he can't put the car into motion at all. I even try to drive it and the gears (1-5 and reverse) are not responding. What do you guys think? Is it something in the transmission like a disconnection in the link, or could it be low on fluid? Please help.
 
Check the master cylinder if thats not it then it is definetely internal. Whatever the following repair might be it would require for the transmission to come down. I would suggest ordering a complete clutch kit while the tranny is down as it can be very labor intensive
