How come enlisted have red trim on there dress blues and officers have all black?

why do officers have all black belts while enlisted get white a gold?

Why cant marines wear their Utility Uniform off base? I know the Army does because it shows we are at war, but how come the Marines don't do the same?

Why dont marines wear any American flags/unit patches/ or things like that?
edit: yes I tried google, a lot.

the colors and belts are just to tell the difference, but there might be more to it.

i think the thing with the uniform off base is based on pride for the most part. my friend was wearing usmc bdus at a store and got bitched out.

i dunno bout the patches....

Yeah you dont wear a military uniform unless you are in the military.
You can rock the cammo pants like most trailer trash does.. but when you wear an exact copy of any military issues uniform its kinda like spitting in some ones face.

well the bdus were issued to him. he was gonna commission, but decided not to. hes still goin navy reserves

it wasn't right i guess, but it wasn't as bad as some civi wearing it......

Well of course there is a reason other then that. Hell even the fuckin colors of the uniform means shit. Everything means something and has a history to it.

They are there to recruit, not be the military channel.

Recruiters are like salesmen. Ask them a question and they'll answer in hopes of you joining.

Shit my recruiter is a fucking moron. So was the next guy I delt with.
Ive been trying to get a waiver to clear for 2 months and have been working with him for 3.
I have a couple juvy charges and one adult.. none of them "really bad".. but a poss. of a controlled substance.. but I was never convicted of anything.

I pretty much threw in the towel.. they want their fresh meat highschool kids more.

Its funny how they said they let out to many waivers.. when they gave out like 680 or so.. but they had 60,000 enlist last year.. OOOO a big 1% :crash:

well i'm sittin in khakis right now. i'd be amused if there was a history behind them, my shirt-stays, black socks, leathers, khaki belt, collar devices, and tacked pockets......

however, i do know saluting comes from medieval times when knights would raise their face guards to show their face to higher ranking officers/kings or w/e. and i think taking you cover off indoors comes from that too. tho i'm pretty sure some branches wear it inside.........

I think MPs can wear their covers inside, as long as they are on duty. They dont salute inside, well Marines dont.

The red trim is the "blood stripe," it's earned once you are a NCO. Edit: The officers blood stripe is slighty thicker then an NCO's too.

Officers get black belt just because they are lazy officers. :dodgyrun:

You can't wear your uniform because Marines are terrorist worst enemy, if Marines wore their uniform around they pose a threat to themselves and the people around them.

Not sure, I'm guessing to keep everyone equal. Same reason there is no special cover for officers, too easy to target.

Marines salute while they are wearing a cover, you don't wear a cover indoors unless you are on duty.

Any more questions?

marines never wear combat patches or patches on there MCU's they never have. We do in the army, it has something to do with everyone being equal.

Well given that the average woodchuck moves around 700lbs of dirt per burrow it digs, I'm going to guess anywhere from 20-30 tons per life time, of chucking wood.
